Miss Nora's Cake Smash - Utah Baby Child Photographer

A child's first birthday is so momentous. It signifies that you, as the parent, have done your job for the last year. The child is still alive, learning, growing. I think it's a huge accomplishment. :)

As a photographer, it's so easy to want to brush off your child's portraits. After all you spend most days taking pictures of other people's kids and families. When you have a day off, pulling out the camera is sometimes the last thing you want to do.

But I was determined to make this session happen. I knew I'd love to be able to look back and see how dainty and tiny my sweet girl was. So another set of cupcakes I made. Nothing fancy, but honestly, who doesn't love confetti chip frosting? YUM.

Some children love to dive into the cake. As much as I thought my child would be one of them, it turns out she wasn't. The girl loves her food, but getting messy is apparently something that's not as high on her list.

Oh well, no bath required at least.

Showcasing Your Memories

Everything in this world is digital now. And that's better, easier, faster, right? And yet there is nothing I find more depressing than when a family spends time and money on quality family portraits and leaves them sitting on discs, hiding in the closets. These are your memories, preserved! Remembering happy times boosts your happiness now and looking at photographs helps make those memories more vivid. Photographs capture what your mind sometimes forgets. That fleeting moment of childhood, the silly look your beautiful daughter used to make, how sexy you used to be when you were young. :) Don't hide those memories away. DISPLAY THEM! Sometimes I think people just have a hard time trying to figure out HOW to display them. Here are a few quick wall display ideas to get your family's memories up on that blank wall.

I think getting your family pictures done is important.

So important, in fact, that it's what I do for a living and as a hobby.

But as a photographer, it's a lot easier to stay behind the camera. Obviously, I have an insane amount of pictures of my baby girl, and of her and her Daddy together. But the ones of her and I are few and far between. It's important to me for her to be able to look back and know that she actually did have a Mommy in her life.

I also think it's really easy to push pictures to the backburner. You always have a few extra pounds to lose or more important things to get done. THESE ARE YOUR MEMORIES. I'm not sure there's anything more important than preserving this time in your life RIGHT NOW, RIGHT AS IT IS.

So I scheduled for Vanessa to take our family pictures. We haven't had any done together since Nora was born and I think the time is overdue. But my sweet (and extremely busy) photographer has had important things come up the last two times we've scheduled to get them done. This last Sunday we were ready and walking out the door when I found out she wouldn't be able to make it. So we decided to call my mom down (who can barely work a point and shoot) and see if she could snap a few. Luckily she brought her boyfriend Dave who was capable of pushing the shutter button and we captured a few really good pictures.

I can't wait for our real photoshoot but thought I would share a few of these for now.

Bohemian Chic - Salt Lake City Model Photography

I've been thinking up a stylized session for so long. It took quite some time to get it all worked out in my head but once the idea entered, I ran with it and didn't look back.

I love the golden light coming over a field and tried to think of something that would go with that. I wanted something earthy, fresh.....bohemian.

Perfect. Now I just needed a model.

I met her at American Eagle. She was perfect for the look I was going for and game to do anything.

And obviously, she's absolutely gorgeous.

Is it weird that I suddenly wish I was a redhead?

I love being able to let out my creativity through photography. Nothing is better than having a vision in your head and manifesting it through a lens.

I have to give a huge shout out to my amazing hairstylist and makeup artist. They really helped execute my vision and are AMAZING at what they do.

I kept having person after person tell me how Morgan was shy, how Morgan doesn't say much, how Morgan was quiet. Maybe all that's true but this girl could STRIKE A POSE.

Nothing makes my job easier than when my clients have their own little bag of tricks. No running through my posing motions. They pull out their own things and totally kill it. It looks natural and nothing looks better than that.

When I commented on her posing abilities she credited them to watching a lot of America's Next Top Model. Whatever works, right?

She was up for anything and so laid back.

I couldn't be happier to have her as one of my senior reps for Alta High School. She may be quiet and shy but she's a genuinly nice person. And obviously beautiful.

The Dream Family - Utah Family Child Photographer

There is nothing better than when you have a returning client. It's so fun seeing how children have grown, people have changed. You're already comfortable. You can just relax and enjoy each other's company.

This sweet family was one of my very first paying clients. I had the chance to look back at their pictures from last year and it was exciting to see how much my photography has grown. It was also fun to see how much sweet Kambria had grown. She's such a ham and was an easy bribe with candy.

They also added a sweet little guy to the mix. Isn't he so adorable? His eyes are absolute perfection. He was such a good baby the whole time even when we scraped his legs up on a tree stump. What a trooper!

I was also able to meet these two sweet kids that I didn't get to at our last session. They were natural posers and really knew how to work the camera.

And the parents. The sweet sweet parents.

I still remember how kind Kamaron was at our last session, offering to carry all my props because I was pregnant.

And Carly, could you be any more beautiful? You're the dream client.

At one point during the session I was looking through my viewfinder at Kamaron and Carly and actually said these words, "You guys are cuter than last time I saw you."

What? That didn't come out right.

They were unsure how to respond. Was that an insult or a compliment?

Sometimes I can't quite get out what I'm thinking in my head. So let me clarify.

You guys have always been cute, obviously, but your kindness and spunky personalities have made you grow on me even more so than before. You're beautiful, genuine people, and your children are gorgeous.

Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

I look forward to many more sessions with you guys!

Lock up your little girls - Utah Baby Child Photographer

This little man is on the loose!

We had such a fun time during this session because not only is this little boy the cutest thing ever, but the parents are our good friends. Boston was born 3 days after my little girl and they're buddies.

It was nice getting out on the town and spending time with people we care about!

And then something so beautiful happened at the end of our session. We're in downtown Salt Lake, concrete surrounding, and this beautiful butterfly came and rested on this random leaf where we were shooting. It was about the size of my palm and so colorful!

I'm done "laboring" for today. Off to Oktoberfest to enjoy the gorgeous weather, eat delicious food and spend time with people I love.

There's something about shooting a senior. It's so inspiring to listen to each of their stories. You're at the top of the chain finally. You're deciding what you're going to do with the rest of your life. You've got it all figured out. That's how I felt about this kid. I wish I could even remember what he said he wanted to be "when he grows up". Biomedical something or other. I'm definitely not smart enough to even know what it was, but I'm glad I get to be the person that documents this time of his life for him.

Work Hard - Utah Wedding Photographer

I loved this wedding. Not just becaust it turned out beautiful but because the groom was my brother-in-law. They held their reception in my mother in laws backyard, which is where we held ours as well. It brought back a lot of fun memories and just made me so grateful that I married into the family that I did.

During the ceremony, the man marrying them said something that I'll never forget.

He said, "Marriage is easy if you work at it hard. Marriage is hard if you work at it easy."

I'm by far no expert in the marriage department but I loved this. Just respect one another. Love each other. Be happy together. Work hard at keeping your marriage your top priority.

I had the chance to shoot another beautiful wedding with Vanessa Millecam. I learn so much from her every time I'm with her. She's such an inspiration.

It's so amazing being able to witness brand new couples, and how much they're in love. It's apparent how much they care for one another. It made me think of the song Everything by Michael Buble. At that time in your life there is NOTHING more important than that person.

I love making something sweet out of something sour.

I guess when you have a baby as cute as this it's not hard to make anything cuter than it was.

You could put her in a garbage bag and it would still be cute.

I had been wanting to try out more of a vintage type shoot, so when I saw a bag of lemons at the store I grabbed them, ran home and got the baby all dolled up.

I have an itch to try out some fabulous new ideas. These ideas have been rolling around in my head for quite some time and I'm dying to try them out.

I feel that as a photographer I need to constantly be pushing and stretching myself with new and different things. I want my images to portray freshness. The only way to achieve that is by letting go and trying new things.

So I'm going to do that.

One of the most common questions I get asked as a photographer is "What should we wear?". 99 times out of 100 I'll tell you to wear bright fun colors. But I get that sometimes bright isn't your thing. So I put together this guide with those in mind that might not want to hop out in a lime green shirt or a hot pink skirt.

Changes - Utah Senior Teen Photographer

I've been so excited to post these images. These are the second set of images from my mentorship with Vanessa Millecam. I just couldn't believe how beautiful these two girls were. They totally knew how to work the camera which made my job SO EASY.

As you can see, there have been some changes here on my website. I'm still tweaking a few things but I'm really loving the new look.

Before, my branding was geared mainly toward children, and while I still really love photographing children, I wanted to market to a larger client base. When I was just starting out I really only took pictures of people's children. Now I've had the opportunity to shoot seniors, bridals, engagements, all these different sessions and I realize how much I love it and want to do more of it.

I wanted a look that was clean and classic and I think I got it! I hope you all like it!

Now, back to these girls, aren't they just beautiful? I love this next picture. Doesn't Miss Chloe just put off mysterious? I love the intensity of it.

And Lisa could pull off any pose we threw at her.

Teenagers are just too beautiful these days. Seriously, I don't remember girls looking like this when I was in high school. And it wasn't even that long ago!

Calm Between the Storm - Utah Children Photographer

I had my first session since my mentorship and WOW what a difference in the way I felt and worked with these little sweeties.

I wasn't sure how I was going to be able to handle 4 girls under the age of 10, but they were so well- mannered and polite. We were able to slip in during the middle of a storm and it worked out perfectly.

Constantly growing....

I'm not going to be posting a What 2 Wear segment this week because I think this session speaks for it entirely. This is the PERFECT outfit and was so much fun to shoot. It's all about layers, accesories and obviously, some converse never hurt anyone.

This past weekend I was able to mentor with the very talented Vanessa Millecam. I learned so much from our day together. I was very excited to see I was on the right track with a lot of things.

I think the area I gained the most from was just learning to believe in myself. Vanessa helped me to see that I'm not just another mommy with a camera, that I have talent, and that I'm worth it! I'm constantly growing and learning. I think that was the most important thing for me.

The models were amazing and an absolute breeze to shoot. Could little Lexi be any cuter? She needs to be locked up pronto.

There are going to be lots of new and fun changes to come, from model casting calls, to pricing, to website changes. Keep checking back, and as always I love to hear from you. It makes my day.

Again, sorry I missed What 2 Wear this week. I was busy editing this pretty ladies session!

This is my gorgeous sister and niece. She has baby girl #2 on the way, and if she's got the looks of her sister or mommy, she's sure to be a beauty too.

I'm so excited that my daugher Nora is going to have a girl cousin so close in age to her. They'll even be in the same grade. I'm sure they'll be best little buddies.

Quite honestly, I can't believe we're all grown up and having kids. It seems like just yesterday I was watching my sister out the window as she headed for the bus in her pajamas (that was the cool thing to do then) wishing that I could be just like her some day.

Growing up we had our fights and battles but as the years go by our relationship and friendship grows stronger and I'm grateful to have such a wonderful person in my life.

She's a great mother who would do just about anything for her daughter and she's an extremely hard and dedicated worker who has built an amazing career for herself.

Now she's moving onto this phase in her life. The two kids phase.

And whether she decides to stay home or continue at her job, it will be the right choice for her. She can make it work either way. She's superwoman like that.

Alyssa loves my Nora more than words can say. She loves to hold her, talk to her while she's riding in the car, play with her. Most seven year olds couldn't be bothered with a little baby. They can't play or talk back, after all, but that doesn't matter to Lyss.

That's how I know she's going to be the best big sister around.

I'm so excited for this new addition to our family. I can't wait to meet her and hold her and cuddle her.

But most of all, I can't wait to hear Alyssa say, "Mom, she's SO CUTE!"

Permanent Subject

My husband bought me my first DSLR the Christmas of 2008. At that time I wanted to start learning more about photography but wasn't sure where to start. After learning a little about my camera I practiced on a few friends children and my love for photography continued to grow from there. But I didn't have a steady stream of clients (because I wasn't that good yet) and I got pretty tired of taking pictures of my dog.

When I found out I was pregnant in April of 2009 I was pretty excited that I would soon have a permanent subject to take pictures of. I obviously love taking pictures of other people but there is nothing more satisfying to me than being able to beautifully document my family. To know that I can look back at wonderful images of my children, my family, my life, is truly a blessing.

I can't believe my girl is 6 months now. She's the perfect age for pictures. She can sit up for a few minutes at a time but can't crawl yet to get away....

F~U~N - Salt Lake City Engagement Photography

There's something to say for having humor in your life. Dan could NOT pull a serious face. I'd tell him to whisper something into his honey's ear and all of the sudden tongues were flying and funny faces were being pulled. It made things so much fun for me.

Just because they couldn't seriously whisper sweet nothings into each others ears does not mean that I couldn't see the love they had for each other.

Because after the funny faces were pulled they'd look into each other's eyes with enough love to make you know they weren't foolin' around.

And can I just say these people's skin was flawless? Especially Wendy's. Almost zero processing was needed for their smooth blemish free faces.

Dan also brought his daughter and she didn't disappoint in the humor department either. She made sure to let me know upon meeting that she used to do pageants.

Can you tell?

She was pretty good at posing. Too good.

I got to see more than just her pageant side though. In the bushes.....

Fix it Friday - I ♥ Faces

I love taking a bad picture and making it look good. This little fellow sure is cute, but he's underexposed and void of color. The right side of his face is badly blown out, past the point of recovery in my opinion.

I increased the exposure in ACR and cropped the image so I didn't have to worry about dealing with that blown spot. I fixed the owies on his face and corrected skin tone using curves. I increased the saturation in the grass to make it look more green and burned the background to add some dimension. Gave a little eye pop and sharpening and Voila!

So sorry I missed last weeks edition. That's why I didn't promise I'd have one up every week. I knew I'd drop the ball eventually (I just didn't realize it would be week 3 haha).

I love putting together these fun style guides and I also hate it. I love fashion but I'm pretty sure my husband would kill me if I were to buy all of these cute outfits. So I'm just left wanting all of these things.

Kid on a Bike - Utah High School Senior Photographer

I was a little nervous for this session. It was my very first senior session and it was a boy. So when he rolled up on his bullet bike, saying I was intimidated was an understatement.

I had NOTHING to be worried about. This kid was a natural. I think he was even getting a little embarrassed over all the praise but I couldn't help it. He was good.

He knew how to pose. When to smile. When to pull a straight face. He didn't need any coaching. It made things super simple for me.

You see, I'm used to chasing little kids around praying that I get at least one decent shot.

Graduating high school is such an exciting time. You have your whole life ahead of you. You can take on the world pretty much. And Kyle's going to. He's planning on joining the U.S. Coast Guard. I have a feeling he's going to be great at whatever he chooses for himself.

This kid and his bike. Man, I couldn't have asked for a better prop. I love how the pictures are a little mysterious but still fun. And they show who he really is. Adventerous.

I really enjoyed getting to know a little bit about you Kyle. Congratulations on your graduation and good luck with everything ahead of you!

I love how every single session I have presents a different challenge for me. I love that I'm learning and growing in photography every day.

I had so much fun shooting this rambunctious little two year old. He was so full of energy and running around any chance he could get. At least a quarter of the pictures were of the back of his head as he ran away.

I think toddlers are my favorite age to shoot so far. I just get to chase them around while they discover the world around them.

It's so fun to see their faces light up upon discovery of a truck, or a river, or a big huge turkey. (Scary, scary, right Adrienne?)

So often, I have people apologize when their child is acting out, or they don't want to do what we have in mind. Please don't apologize. I come to every session with the knowledge that there's probably going to be a tear or two shed. It's nothing to be worried about. We'll get all the smiles we need, I assure you.

I love my job, and I love getting to know your little ones.

All sides of your little one.

I really enjoyed spending some time with you guys, and am glad you're back so we can get to know each other better.

What2Wear Wednesday

One of the most frequently asked questions I get is "What should we wear?". First and foremost, I want you to come to your session feeling COMFORTABLE.

My biggest tip is that you don't need to be matchy matchy. Would you normally go out with your family all dressed in white/black shirts and khakis? Probably not.

The key word is COORDINATE. Find one or two colors that you love and build your wardrobe around these. Don't be afraid of prints and accesories. Scarves, jewelry, hats. These are all your best friends.

Lots of colors and layers photograph really well. Have fun with it!

Most importantly, if you're feeling a little stuck, don't be afraid to ask for tips! I love to shop and would love to help you look amazing!

Absolutely Adorable - Newborn Baby Child Family Utah Photography

I was so excited when I got a call to do another newborn shoot. Then she mentioned that he was 2 months old and I got a little bit nervous. Any professional photographer could tell you that it's almost impossible to get any type of sleepy, curly, newborn shot past 2 weeks.

Almost impossible.

This sweet little guy was born 7 weeks early. So at two months old he only weighed around 9 pounds and was still small like a newborn. Sleepy, he was not. Sweating within the first ten minutes, I knew he was going to give me a run for my money.

Then I thought of the vacuum. I flipped it on and he zonked out for the most part. I was able to get a lot of the sleepy shots I was hoping for.

But I must say that I'm happy he didn't sleep the whole session away because he had some KILLER eyes. He's going to have the ladies chasing after him before he's even potty trained.

Big brother was so funny and such a little cutie too. We had him put his shirt back on after this shot, and every picture after he asked if he could please keep his clothes on.

So modest.

It was great spending the afternoon with you guys. Your boys are so handsome!

Spring is finally starting to show it's face. I can barely contain my excitement. I can't wait to walk in the grass in my bare feet, eat watermelon till it's coming out my ears, and take pictures in the warm sunlight.

It brings me so much joy to capture people's families, children, babies. I want my pictures to have emotion so that when you look back at them you can remember how you felt in that time.

It is a really good thing that I have my own newborn or I might have just stolen this cute little thing. Little Miss A was such a little doll. She slept the majority of the time, making it so I could try some newborn poses I never got to with Nora. And when she would cry, oh that cry, so sweet and sad all at the same time.

This Mommy was someone I went to high school with. It was so nice to be able to chat with her awhile. I can't believe we're both Moms now.

Jess, she was definitely worth the wait, right? She's beautiful. All of that hair, I can't even believe it. Mmm and those lips, those squishy little lips. I just wanted to kiss them.

Thanks for spending some time with me and letting me create some memories for you. I hope you love them. And Corey, I captured this one especially for you.

There was massive amounts of sweetness going on, but there was A LOT of peeing and pooping going on too. Babies are good at that, right?

This girl was ready to go the second she walked through my door. She saw the chair she was supposed to sit in, sat down, and started posing.

She was such a little sweetie. She followed all the directions I gave her so well, and was such a good helper!

She was getting her pictures taken for her fifth birthday. Usually her parents go to Kiddie Kandids but with their recent closure I got the opportunity to take them this year. I'm definitely not complaining that they closed, that's for sure!

This girl's eyes. WOW. She's going to be a little heartbreaker.

Chris, you better keep practicing the knuckle sandwich and fruit punch, because you're going to need it for the swarms of boys you're going to have to bat off.

I am so, SO excited to be posting these.

I took my beautiful cousin over to the International Peace Gardens in Salt Lake. Granted, it was a bit cold (ok, we were FREEZING by the end), but it was a beautiful day. The first day in awhile where I've seen blue skies.

It's so fun adding something new to my portfolio. I had so much fun taking these. A lot less work than most of the shoots I've done. I didn't have to chase any kids around. I just told my subject what to do, and they did it. A nice change of pace.

Kalina, I hope that when you look back at these pictures that you remember this time in your life.

How much you're in love with Sterling. I hope you can look at these pictures in 10, 20, 30 years and remember that.

I also hope you remember how you almost stepped in, what we believed to be, a human stool. (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

I appreciate you letting me be a part of this time in your life. And also for helping me expand my knowledge as a photographer.

I can't believe how things clicked for me when I learned how to shoot in manual mode. It's like photography all of a sudden makes sense. I mean, obviously I always have more to learn, but I notice a difference in my photography now that I've learned this.

White Balancing - Salt Lake City, Utah Newborn and Infant Photography

Meet my new best friend.

This is a white balance disc.

It's really, really wonderful.

You know when you take pictures inside and they turn out way too blue? Or way too yellow? It's because you don't have the correct white balance preset selected on your camera.

White balance is the process of removing unrealistic color casts, so that objects which appear white in person are rendered white in your photo.

But it seemed even when I had the correct one selected my photos still never had the correct colors, and that made post processing a nightmare. With this disc you choose the custom white balance settings with your camera, fill your frame with the disc, and press your shutter to acquire the data. Accurate colors every time.

It's a dream!

I took a bit of a hiatus, because I was a bit preoccupied with this little sweetie.

But I definitely want to talk about this family and show some of my favorite images from their shoot.

Jana is a good friend of mines sister. I've seen her at family functions here and there but haven't really had the opportunity to talk to her a lot.

I did this shoot the day before I went into labor. I'm glad we were able to get it done because Jana really wanted family pictures.

You know they've gotta be nice people if I was a day before giving birth and still able to enjoy myself.

Jana and I talked a lot about life while doing the shoot. It's easy to get frustrated with your kids while doing pictures. They aren't smiling, or they're running around. Basically they just don't listen.

But that's what I love so much about being a photographer. I get to capture your family as it is, right in this moment.

I get to capture your daughter with her hair glowing, playing in the leaves.

In this shot we were trying to get a special daddy daughter moment, but the second dad laid down the kids were tackling him. And I couldn't love it more. It was perfect. Mom climbed in and we got the perfect family shot.

Besides, we ended up getting that special moment we were looking for anyway.

Now that I'm starting my own family, I hope that I can be like Jana and really roll with it. At one point she even said, "I don't care if Beau is smiling, as long as he's looking at the camera." I hope that even though everyone might not be smiling in every picture, that we were really able to capture what your family is all about right now. Thanks for letting me get to know you a little better.

We're so lucky to have friends like Corey and Janeen. I know I've mentioned them before and how cute their little boy is. But really, we're lucky.

Janeen is the kind of person I can say pretty much anything to, and not feel awkward or judged.

They're strong people. Sometimes life doesn't give you what you're expecting, but you move forward and you make things work.

We're lucky to be a part of their lives.

I'm lucky that I get to capture memories for people. So that when they pull these pictures out they can say, "Wow remember where we were at in our lives at this time? Those were amazing times and we were really blessed."

This family was so awesome. I had really been stressing out about this shoot about a week prior to going and doing it.

I think it was just because normally I shoot kids (that sounds bad), and with little kids all I do is follow their busy little selfs around and snap shots of them in their element.

I don't tell them what to do or how to pose or when to smile.

And with little kids you're not afraid of what they're thinking of you, or if they think you're stupid or ugly. I'm kidding but essentially you know they're not judging you.

But man, I was really stressing out for no reason at all. This family made me feel SO COMFORTABLE. I think that's supposed to be my job as the photographer, making the family feel comfortable, but it was definitely reversed.

They had a lot of their own ideas, they looked fabulous, they had super laid back personalities, and overall were just a beautiful family to photograph.

We laughed a lot. Most of the time they were laughing at me, because I'm this 7 month pregnant lunatic running around trying to get the perfect shot, but that was alright with me. I need a little exercise.

I'm so glad we were able to round you all up for these pictures. I'm sure you'll be able to cherish these memories for a long time.

Don't even get me started on Stephanie. This girl was gorgeous and hilarious to boot. Sorry Steph, I couldn't photoshop Brad Pitt into your arms. But I have a feeling that that space will be occupied before too long. I don't see how it couldn't.

Thank you guys so much for the fun day. In only an hour you made me feel as if I had known you for a long time. And I hope that I do!

Man, I love this little guy. You might remember him. He's the son of some really good friends of ours, and he was the very first session I ever did.

I can't believe how much he's grown. He's a year old now, and just running and exploring everything he can.

I only pray that I can have a child this happy. All you have to do is say his name and he gives you a big old smile. It really makes for an easy session.

I can't believe how time flies. It makes me a little sad to think that before I know it my little gal will be running around just like Owen.

Remember this pretty lady?

She recently lost a lot of weight....in the form of a beautiful baby boy. Introducing Gavin....

This was definitely the most challenging session I've done so far. This little guy did not want to sleep at all. But I think we're pretty lucky to have gotten so many with his pretty eyes.

Don't worry Hannah, I still want to be your friend. :)

Challenging is good for me, because it makes me see how much I need to grow as a photographer.

I was talking to Ashishs' mom, telling her that I'm all self taught and that I haven't felt so far that I've needed to take any classes. I've changed my mind....there's still so much I need to learn. About my camera, about working with my clients, about myself as a photographer.

I think it's easy to get comfortable doing what you're familiar with, but I can't expect to grow if I'm doing the same thing all the time.

I know we didn't get everything you wanted Hannah, and it was frustrating for all of us.

But, I do think we got quite a few that you're going to be able to cherish for a really long time. Congratulations on your new addition. Thanks for letting me capture this special time in your familys' life.

I'm glad we both survived this shoot. I was completely expecting Ashish to come home and have both of us be passed out on the floor. But we made it, and the result was the proudest photography moment I've had so far.

Shelley is one of those people that couldn't have a mean thing to say about anyone. Just a genuinly nice person.

I really enjoyed spending the afternoon with you. It might have been difficult trying to get Thad to crack a smile for me but when he did it was oh so worth the wait.

You made me so excited for the family that I'll be starting soon. It's apparent how much you and Brian enjoy having Thad in your life.

Pretty sure the only reason I caught all of you smiling here is because I was jumping up and down, waving my arms and legs frantically, barking like a dog, and showing off my sweaty pits the size of a high school gym coach. Heavens, it's embarrassing just thinking about, but I caught this shot and so I guess it's not so bad.

I hope you enjoy these memories for lots of years!

Oh Heidi, I'll forever remember this as the day you found out I was pregnant.

I wanted to tell you in a special way, but I should have known you would ask me if I was pregnant or wanting a baby just like EVERY other time we talk.

So I can't say it was a lucky guess since you ask all the time, but I do think you had the intuition to ask right then. I guess that's what being best friends are about.

I can't believe how much things have changed. I'm pregnant now. You already have this beautiful, amazing little girl. We're pretty lucky I think.

Well, really, I'm the lucky one to have a friend like you. You mean a lot to me.

Miss Sadies pictures were so easy. I'm only sorry it took so long for me to get them finished. I guess I've been a little preoccupied. :)

It was such a beautiful day and I really loved getting to know your sweet kids a little better. The outfits you chose for the girls were just perfect.

Thanks for the yummy cookie. It was great to sit and talk with you for a few minutes without a camera glued to my face.

Nothing was better than Jillian and Harrison's reaction when we took their suckers away. Priceless.

I want to say my pictures have been showing improvement, but how can you tell when all your subject does is lay there?

I mean, it gets old right? I've been studying a lot. I actually verge on the edge of obsessive compulsive. Once I decide I want to do or learn something, there's really no stopping me.Reading books, studying photography blogs, reading my manual.
So I really wanted to put my skills to use. My sweet friend Janeen let me borrow her little boy to practice on. Introducing Owen. Happiest little 6 month old I've known. And cutest smile to top it off.

I mean, I obviously still have a lot to learn, but I feel like I'm getting somewhere.

I returned the favor of family pictures to Hannah at Wheeler Farm last night. It was a little challenging using a camera that I'd never used before, but I really really enjoyed myself. It was a lot of fun! Now, I just need to get myself a nice camera.

All collections are priced for up to 5 people. Each person after 5 will be an additional $15. Collections A and B include one hour in my studio or at the location of your choice. Anything 50 miles outside of the 84065 area code will incur a $50 travel fee. The collections also include multiple background (in studio) and outfit changes.

15 images on CD, edited, retouched and print released for 5x7s and smaller. Allow me to choose the best images from your session for your CD.

Bundle of Joy Collection - $200 (Regularly $400)

Includes:

Newborn session in studio, at your home, or on location of your choice.
2-4 hours which includes breaks to feed and comfort baby.

10% off a la carte prints

All prints are sprayed with a water based coating providing protection and a slightly matte appearance to your prints. Prints above 8x10 are mounted and ready to frame.
